It's never too early to start training puppies and junior handlers.  Morgan has taken on the task of crate training Jet.

Here is Morgan doing puppy socialization with one of our litters.

Morgan and younger sister Taylor putting Ms P through her paces.

One of our puppies practices his "reach & drive"technique.

This is Ms P playing with her favorite "bad guy"! Jet takes flight as he gets a full mouth grip on a bite rod.

Lobo tries his bite out!

Isis works at heeling for Rachel

Looks like Caesar got a little over zealous!

Alicia as a "Puppy Walker"  giving Gino social training as part of becoming a guide dog.  Happy to say Gino became a guide dog in NYC.

Drive training basics start at the beginning.  Here handlers and puppies get some experience.
Jet is up for training today!
Here he is watching someone suspicous
Here he is giving fair warning to stay back!
Some guys NEVER listen....now look at him!
Look at this, here comes another one.  Don't worry Rachel I'll take care of him.
I've got you too, now run away like the other "bad guy"
Oh, by the way, thanks for the new toy!
That's enough for today's training.  Just wait till next time!

Subject: Thank You
Seeing is believing.  This is a picture of Reese with one of our cats!  They
have actually gotten to be friends!  When I adopted Reese a year ago, she was
described as cat aggressive.  The SPCA where she was rescued had actually
planned to put her down because they felt she was not adoptable because of it.
Fortunately, she was rescued by VGSR.  When I first brought her home, I had to
keep the cats and dogs in separate areas of my house.  I asked you for a
consultation, and you advised me that you weren't sure she could be trained to
get along with cats, but you agreed to work with us to see what could be done.
You directed me to place a cat in a carrier and put it on the back of the sofa
while I worked Reese in the same room.  She wasn't allowed to stare at the cat
and had to focus on me at all times.  Gradually, we increased the time, but for
several months it didn't seem to be working all that well.  Then, all of a
sudden, after about four
months, a light bulb came on in her head.  She got it!  Since then, we have
gradually introduced the cats back into the rooms with the dogs.  Now, they stay
together full time, all the time and get along beautifully, as you can see.
Reese even accepted my son's two cats who stayed with us for three weeks while
they were gone on vacation.  One of those cats is a huge old man, and both my
shepherds are actually afraid of him!  Anyway, thank you so much for your work
with Reese and me!  I would be happy to sing your praises to anyone!
